Ecological Restoration Volunteer Opportunity

Full Description:

Great River Greening is partnering with Chisago City to build a rain garden at one of the cities newest parks, Water Tower Park on Saturday, September 6th 8:30am-12:30pm.

The park overlooks a wetland area, nature boardwalk, and a trail head for bikers and hikers. Volunteers are needed to install a rain garden at the edge of the park’s playground. In addition to the rain garden, volunteers will beautify the area by planting native trees, shrubs, grasses, and perennials. The rain garden will prevent erosion in the park and water pollution in the near by wetlands which will help ensure the area’s longevity for future generations to come.

Individuals of all ages, families, community and corporate groups are welcome to participate in Greening’s restoration events. Residents of Chisago City and near by communities will be given priority for this event. Pre-registration is required, so sign up today! You will receive a confirmation one week prior to the event with directions and event details.
